San Francisco Natural Wine Week

Been wondering what the heck is natural wine?
And whats all this noise about orange (!) wines?
What is the real story on wine and sulfites?

Well get out there in San Francisco next week and scratch that itch.
There is a whole week's worth of natural wine tastings and even a natural wine seminar to wrap it all up.

The widely respected wine writer, Alice Feiring, wrote a post about the definition of natural wine this week.

You can find out all about it here. SF Natural Wine Week.

Hi Amy;

Thanks for the links on natural wines. We're doing some research on corks vs. screw caps vs. plastic plugs... while plastic has almost no advantages, the cork seems the most "natural", being compostable, decortive, etc... but it looks like screw caps are the best for your wine... unfortunately!

Corks are the most natural solution in my mind too. As far as screwcaps being the best for wine, thats debatable. I think it depends on the wine.
Reduction has been an ongoing issue with screwcap wines. Also, there doesn't seem to be much data on how screwcaps are affected by long term aging.
